Australia faced tough final run in Taiwan
The Australian Little League team has finished their Asia Pacific Championships campaign with a 2-3 record, invaluable baseball experience and hundreds of new friends.
6 July v Korea
Today was a difficult game for the Australian team facing a well drilled, seasoned and more mature Korean team. Dawson Summers began the pitching and gave 100% effort but the Korean hitters were too classy piling on 6 runs in the 2nd inning.
4 hits for Australia by Axel King, Connor Dobson, Jackson Riley and Lincoln Kempton did not manage to result in any runs scored. With 5 runners LOB Australia could not string hits together.
Jackson Riley entered the game for the 3rd out of the 2nd inning. Holding the Koreans in the 3rd and one strike out in the 4th by Jackson Riley wasn't enough to come back from behind.
Australia was as prepared for this game as possible but was out matched in size, strength and experience.
Thank you again to all of the loyal supporters from Australia and our new supporters from the other competing nations including Korea, CNMI Saipan and Chinese Taipei.
Watching the boys skylark after each game with the other teams reminds us that they are the reason why we are here.
