Following his further training at the Professional Umpire Corporation in March, Tom West has progressed as an Umpire to Rookie Ball

In January this year, West attended the Jim Evans Academy for Professional Umpiring in the US (February 8 Article). The Jim Evans Academy is a hard five week course, sanctioned by the MLB, designed to train umpires for a professional umpiring career.

He graduated as an Honours Student and was offered further training at the Professional Baseball Umpire Corporation (PBUC) conducted in March.

Umpiring Rookie Ball is another significant step for Tom in his umpiring career and the Australian Baseball Federation congratulates him on this achievement.
