Deeble's Diary - Day 8
Another great win tonight. After a four hour delay in wet conditions the boys came out to battle. Every game has been a grand final for us so far, and tomorrow will be no different.
Oxspring was at his best on the mound today; he was just dominating. We turned 4 double plays; Jimmy Beresford made an outstanding play up the middle, turned and threw for a 6-3. Everyone swung the bats well today; Huber, Denning and Brice all got home runs.
When Brice hit a 3 run shot to enforce the mercy rule, there was elation in the dugout.
Tomorrow’s game won’t be easy. Although Germany hasn’t won a game, they have been in all of them; and were unlucky in a few. We will need to be right on our game tomorrow. We will take nothing for granted.
We have a few niggling injuries in camp; dehydration tests again in the morning, we want to make sure that all our players are at their peak.
A win tomorrow will keep us in the tournament; a loss will send us home.
