Women's National Team announced for 2010 World Cup

Following the highly successful National Women’s Baseball Championships held on the Gold Coast recently, the Australian Baseball Federation is pleased to announce the 18-player squad that has been chosen to represent  Australia at the 2010 IBAF Women’s World Baseball Cup. 
 
The tournament, to be hosted in South America by Venezuela, will be staged from August 12- 22.
 
The players selected are:

Tahnee Lovering (NSW)
Amy McCann (VIC)
Kim McMillan (NSW)
Lauren Murphy (NSW)
Laura Neads (NSW)
Natalie Rawlings (WA)
Brooke Shiels (NSW)
Taylah Welch (QLD)
Kathy Welsh (VIC)
 
The team will be coached by John Gaynor, pitching coach will be Tim Ballard, Dominic Ruggierio is the Assistant Coach while Anne-Maree Adams is the Executive Officer.
 
The team will be looking to take a step up onto the podium for the first time at a Women’s World Cup after a string of fourth-place finishes.’
